    At PPS we maintain the highest standards of academic excellence. In order to keep up with the latest trends in this kind of learning, regular workshops are held for teachers to share their experiences and ideas and to try out new ways of activity-based instruction. We also use a variety of teaching methodologies to improve the learning experience of the children.

    The  acedamics  has been so framed, that the individual child is the core of the whole programme. An atmosphere of relaxed, easy human relationship between the children and the teachers pervades the class room. 

  • For us, education is not just making a student literate but to make him/ her think, gain knowledge and be self-sufficient. We believe in being creative and develop a methodology that will benefit both students and teachers. For us “work is Play”.

    The teacher are encouraged to use multimedia, role play, activities, experiments, field trips and projects to teach a lesson in a more meaningful way.

    The Project Method where children learn by doing is an integral part of the instructional techniques employed at our school. Students are encouraged to engage in research work for projects right from primary classes going up through the school.

    All students are not equally blessed as far as the academics are concerned. Through cooperative collaborative group work (CCGW) and special classes we take care of all those learners who make slow progress in understanding the academics.

    Very often fast learners are neglected in the constant grind to bring slow learners up to the mark. At PPS, we assign advanced tasks to extraordinary learners to expose them to more challenging learning experiences.

    The school follows Uniform System of Assessment to enhance the new concept of B2B,”Back to basics”. In this method the progress of a student is assessed through diverse method of examinations like Periodical Tests and Term examinations and graded as per the secured marks. Certain par aspects like Book maintenance, Subject enrichment, Work education, Art education, Health&Physical Education are also graded in the evaluation.

  • Curriculum

    A caring ethos underpins our whole curriculum

    A curriculum is a sum total of all learning experiences which a learner experiences in a school. We follow a broad based curriculum that focuses at quality content; judiciously selected activities to ensure clear learning and understanding, learner centered teaching methodologies, diverse assessment methods, rich co-curricular activities, field trips, excursions etc.

    We have created such an ambience that students and teachers feel safe and happy while in school. A happy and satisfied learner displays exceptional willingness and curiosity to explore deep in to the profound sea of knowledge.

  • In order to ensure that this happens we aim to:

    • Offer a curriculum which is appropriate, motivating, challenging and fun to learn.

    The aim of the curriculum at PPS is designed to provide the best learning opportunities for your children to enable them to be:

  • Every child will be enabled to communicate fluently in English and other languages.
    In the Pre Primary and Junior section, children are encouraged to develop early reading and writing skills through:

    • Listening, speaking, writing and reading
    • Stories, rhymes and songs to develop listening and speaking skills.
    • Flash card reading and story books to enhance reading skills.
    • The ‘phonics ‘method of teaching the alphabet is encouraged to enhance the reading skills.
    • In the Junior, Middle and Senior years we emphasise on the development of spoken and written English- through creative writing, reading, debating, dramatics and extempore speaking.
    • Parents are welcomed to join workshops so that they can guide their children.

    The social sciences include a wide a range of content, drawn from the disciplines of history, geography, civics, political science, economics and sociology.

    Social science teaching is made interesting for the learner to acquire knowledge and skills in an interactive environment- through dramatization, role play, audio visual aids, Educational visits to museums, post offices, railway station and other public places.
    At the junior level, the understanding of their surrounding (environment) is taught through activities, stories, observation and illustration rather than abstractions.

    At the middle level and senior level the approach is to develop an understanding of formation and functioning of governments, environmental issues, our boundaries and resources and India’s struggle for freedom.

    Children are always curious to know about the world around them and how things work.

    We aim to understand the facts and principles of science and its applications through exploration of environment, experiments, observation and investigations.

    At Primary level the child gets ample opportunities for exploration of the environment, to arouse curiosity about the world (natural environments and people) and develops basic skills to classify, identify, infer, draw, illustrate, measure and observe.
    At the middle and senior level, scientific concepts are taught through activities, simple models, practical knowledge through experiments, engage in meaningful simple investigations, discussions and projects.

    Mathematics specifically relates to numeracy is taught to train a child to think, reason, analyze and to articulate logically.

    At Primary level the child will be able to understand the connections between the logical functioning of their everyday lives to that of mathematical thinking. It teaches numbers and operations on them, measurement of quantities, fractions, percentages and ratios: through mathematical games, puzzles, data handling, representation and visualization and stories.

    At the middle and secondary level, a special emphasis on experimentation and exploration is encouraged to expand their mathematical knowledge. It is also be through the mathematical laboratories where they learn mathematical modelling, data analysis and interpretation.

    At Primary level the curriculum provides adequate opportunity to learn and explore the basics of computers and its tools.

    At intermediate level the students learn to create and manage software applications and digital devices.

    At senior level use of different software applications introduced to enhance one’s learning. It involves learning through activities.

    At Primary level children are given the opportunity to be creative through drawing, painting, craft work, clay modelling, paper cutting, collage, paper Mache and various other activities.

    At middle level and senior level the students handle materials for drawing, painting, collage, clay modelling, making of puppets etc. We emphasize on the learner developing his/her own imagination and expression through observation and exploration of their surroundings.

    At Primary level we focus on action poems/ songs/ rhymes to learn to sing/ recite from memory and focus on different subjects such as colors, numbers, plants and animals, which helps the child’s understanding of its surroundings and will improve his/her language and communication skills.

    At middle and senior level the focus is to expose the students to the vast variety of music available in our country – the five regions- north, south, north east, east and the west.
